SHRI SHANKARLING PROUDHA SHALE
The school at village ‘Hombal’ of Gadag district of Karnataka was established in the year 1974.
The aim was to enable girls from that village to go high-school which was never possible before.
Establishment of the school was revolutionary and brought sweeping changes in the social structure of the Hombal and surrounding villages, thanks to the dedicated service by local office bearers and school teachers.
The school now stands on a sprawling 3 acre land donated by Shri Srinivasrao Kulkarni of Hombal village.
‘Shankaralinga High School’ caters to the need of 8th , 9th and 10th standard students of not only Hombal, but also the villages from the nearby areas.
